Capital improvement for Drinking Water

RADIO READ METERS

In 2021 the board of directors approved a project to replace our aging manual read meters with radio read, drive by meters. These meters are from Kamstrup a very reputable meter manufacturer. They will read very low flow down to 0.015 GPM and will track any leaks or bursts on the customers side of the meter. Overall, this will help us account for all our water gong through the meter and help on water savings and accountability. We have now over 500 out of 900 meters installed in the district. We should have this project completed by the end of 2025.

Capital improvement projects like this one that keep our system up to date and functioning for the future are funded by previously collected reserves and capital improvement funds that have been set aside for larger projects. They do not have any bearing on current or future rates.

FIRE HYDRANT AWARENESS

If you have a fire hydrant on your property, please we request that:
  • Do not park in front of the fire hydrant.
  • Keep fire hydrant free of vegetation and debris.
  • Be watchful for vandalism or unauthorized use and report it to the office. (We greatly appreciate the communities help and information)
  • If you see a leak or damage, please report it.
  • Do not plant or landscape around the hydrant without BMIDs approval.

CUSTOMER VALVES

All customers should have your own valve for temporarily isolating your service to do a repair or clean your filter. The BMID valve is for BMID personnel to isolate your service in case of a larger issue to your irrigation system, BMID emergencies or for maintenance purposes. We strongly encourage every homeowner to have their own valve to insure.
