DRINKIN WATER
WATER SAVINGS FOR KIDS
Did you know that less than 1% of all the water on Earth can be used by people? The rest is salt water or is permanently frozen and we can't drink it, wash with it, or use it to water plants.

Capital improvement for Drinking Water
RADIO READ METERS
In 2021 the board of directors approved a project to replace our aging manual read meters with radio read, drive by meters. These meters are from Kamstrup a very reputable meter manufacturer. They will read very low flow down to 0.015 GPM and will track any leaks or bursts on the customers side of the meter. Overall, this will help us account for all our water gong through the meter and help on water savings and accountability. We have now over 500 out of 900 meters installed in the district. We should have this project completed by the end of 2025.
Capital improvement projects like this one that keep our system up to date and functioning for the future are funded by previously collected reserves and capital improvement funds that have been set aside for larger projects. They do not have any bearing on current or future rates.

River pumping station pump manifold
This winter we will be replacing the original pump manifold at our river pumping station. The original manifold consists of a 48” manifold with 6 pump outlets. The new manifold will be upsized to a 54” to prepare for future improvements to tackle instantaneous demand as we transition from agriculture to residential demands. We are also replacing the electrical conduit and power lines running to the pumps themselves during this improvement. This project will start November 1st and be finished by late February before the start of the 2024 Irrigation Season.
