Irrigation Dirty Water Notice

April 15, 2024

During the beginning of irrigation season BMID and customers are experiencing an excess of dirt, silt, and grasses in the system.  There have always been pockets of dirty water issues, but over the past few years the dirty water seems to have gotten increasingly worse.  The BMID irrigation water comes straight from the river, and it is extremely dirty at the beginning of the season due to the spring run-off.

The crew will continue to diligently clean the BMID filters and flush in areas daily to help reduce dirty water as much as possible.

We are unable to help systems that are not designed for irrigation water.  If you need more information on recommendations for our irrigation system, please see the Irrigation Planning and Resources page by clicking here. We are hoping that the river begins to clear up in mid-June, just as it has in years past.
